The Municipal Council of the city of Kamza is composed of 41 people and 9 committees.
The duties of the Municipal Council are:

- Approval of the organizational structure.
- Approval of the acts of establishment of enterprises, commercial companies, as well as other legal entities that it creates itself or is a co-founder.
- Approval of the budget and its amendments.
- Organization and supervision of the municipality's internal control.
- Establishment of local taxes and fees, as well as their level.
- Decision on obtaining loans and repaying obligations to third parties.
- Decision on the establishment of joint institutions with other local government units.
- Approval of norms, standards and criteria for the regulation and discipline of the functions assigned to it by law, as well as for the protection and guarantee of the public interest.
- Establishment of the symbols of the municipality.
- Establishment of the names of streets, squares, territories, institutions and buildings under the jurisdiction of the municipality.
- Granting honorary titles and incentives.
- Establishing rules, procedures and methods for carrying out delegated functions.
